No experience or
'talent' with art is needed. The focus is on your inner process of
unfoldment and self-expression, not on art as product. Many art
materials and an extensive sandplay* collection are available for
your use in a peaceful, spacious room.
COME DISCOVER THE WISE, JOYFUL,
CREATIVE BEING YOU ARE!
SoulPlay "sometimes is just plain fun, in such a free and expressive way. At it's most profound, I have discovered deep truths about myself that made room for big shifts in my perception and my life." H.W., 02/02
"SoulPlay deepens my connection to the sacred and shows me where my soul wants to go. It allows the deepest part of me to be expressed, accepted and seen, (and allows) a deepening of the healing process." L.C., 01/02
The Process: We begin with a time for sharing and a centering meditation. You feel into what you most need to explore
that day - a dream, a life issue, a spiritual question, an
artistic impulse. Next, allow your body to play, ranging from
moving freely to curling up under a cozy blanket. Following your
own energy, you move into creative expression using writing, art,
collage, clay, and/or sandplay* - or a creative nap! In the
closing circle, you may share your experience as you like.
(*Sandplay is a deep and
wonderful process of intuitively creating a symbolic world using
trays of sand and miniature objects.)
The Results
: increased self-acceptance,
self-trust and empowerment to make positive choices in life.
Examples: One woman developed the
self-trust to 'step out of the box' and follow her inner guidance
into a new career. Another woman found the courage to end a
pattern of ignoring her own needs by taking excessive care of
others' feelings.
"I like the mix of
sharing with the group and working alone. It provides me a space
that is safe, where I can explore things. I like that Rahima is
available for talking/sharing during the creative time." E.V., 11/2000
The Details: Each group
is limited to 6 participants. You may come to one session before making
a commitment to the group. Groups have an eight-week commitment to ensure
an adequate level of safety and cohesion in the groups for in-depth
inner work.
